Distinctive Skills
Open Records Expertise
Open records can be a trove of information. Filing for them can be a maze. Michelle uses her knowledge of the most efficient methods to request records under state and federal law to help individuals, families, law firms and non-profit organizations find answers.
#OSINT/Research
Open Source Intelligence means gathering information from all available sources. It goes beyond the Internet to seek out documents in places such as university libraries or county courthouses. Knowing where to look for information and how to navigate these systems opens up even more avenues in an investigation.
Interviewing
Finding people is just one step. Knowing how to talk to them can make all the difference. Decades of interviewing subjects from all walks of life has taught Michelle how to relate to people, ask questions, and be sensitive towards those who have experienced trauma.
Analysis
Critical thinking and analysis is crucial to connecting the dots in an investigation. Michelle examines the whole picture and finds the links that may not be obvious. Seeing a case in a new light uncovers facts, people and information.
Professional And Experienced Private Investigator and Researcher
About Mondo Investigations LLC
As a former criminal justice reporter and writer, Michelle Mondo worked for nearly two decades answering the questions who, what, when, where, why, and how. Now, as a licensed private investigator, her experience combines both the high-tech skills of today, like OSINT and proprietary databases, with old-fashioned, shoe-leather information gathering, for an analytical, critical-thinking and individualized approach.
One of her proudest moments was the exoneration of four women who became known as the San Antonio Four. Michelle’s reporting and investigation into the wrongful conviction was a key moment that uncovered previously unknown facts and witnesses along with research into faulty forensic science used in the trials against the women.
Michelle Mondo is a member of the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators. Mondo Investigations is an LGBTQ+ and gender-nonconforming friendly business.
